- This Daisy Red Ryder model 40 was produced in Plymouth Michigan in 1939 went on sale 1940 & 1941 only . Production stopped when we went to war December 7 , 1941 . This variant 1 was noted for the copper coated foregrip band and front site which was pinched into place. Which gave it the nickname copper band Red Ryder. Wood stock and forearm. saddle ring with leather thong , Red Ryder brand burned into left side of stock. Cast iron cocking lever with small screw thru the top of stock. These are very collectible when in good condition. Which this one is very nice . It is a good 4 out of 7 according to the blue book of airguns . Christmas time is coming .
